When adopting a great dane puppy, is there a difference between males and females?
I currently have an adult male dog (80lbs) who is a little dumb acting, but a total love bug and an adult female dog (5lbs) who can be lovey, but is more independant and a little bossy. When considering adopting a great dane puppy which would be better, male or female?

Yes…a male has a penis.
Temperament is evaluated by individual dog, not by sex. Males of any breed can be slightly more territorial, but otherwise, no difference.
i have a male.
the main difference in danes is size, males tend to be much larger than the females.
nearly all danes are going to be big goof balls anyway.
my dane does great with my bossy 9 lb doxie. theyre quite funny together.
a female would be more passive, considering you already have a large male dog
I recently asked the same question and got mixed answers. Since you already have one of each gender, it probably won’t matter quite as much. Personally, I recommend getting a female. She would most likely mesh well with the male and the small female. Getting another large male dog may cause some "alpha male" issues. I think it really just comes down to preference more than anything else.
I am going to say female, I have a male weimaraner and he drives me insane with his dog nature, males that are not fixed will be annoying and could run off and get lost or stolen or so on, females on the other hand go in to heat and all but males are just way more trouble and require patients
Are you thinking about getting the dog fixed?
I WOULD GET ANOTHER MALE. THE LITTLE FEMALE WILL ALWAYS BE THE BOSS OF BOTH MALES. THAT’S HOW IT IS IN THE DOG WORLD.
