Whats a large dog breed that is calm?
I want to add to my German Shepard and Tabby cat home. My German is High Energy, so I want a breed that is more laid back and good with people/other animals. But I want to stick with a large dog, no yappers!! Sorry, personal choice!
well as long as you dont get puppies you should be fine with any kind i got a german sheapard that was 2 years old and she was a very laid back dog. you could go with a bloode hound they are very good animals that are laid back and dont bark hardly ever
How about a standard poodle?
Great with animals, people and they’re so laid back.
I wouldn’t have any other kind of dog.
look to a greyhound
Saint Bernard, Swiss Mtn. Dog, Great Dane, Bouvier des Flanders or an older dog that’s past it’s puppy stage.
Great pyrenees and St. Bernards are calm ( usually ).
They are bolth great dogs too.
Go to a shelter and adopt one. I bet that at your local shelter their are at least 4 of bolth breeds.
I have a male bullmastiff named Tank who is the most laid back guy EVER! We have a chihuahua as well, we got her when Tank was about 3 years old. He was great with her, in fact, he lets her do whatever she wants. I have tons of pictures of her sleeping on his back. Though, you don’t say whether your GSD is a male or female. I wouldn’t recommend a male bullmastiff(unless the bullmastiff is a puppy)with another male dog because they can be stubborn guys and don’t like other guys around. Tank is big for a bullmastiff, about 170lbs, but they run from 100-120lbs generally.
