If her stomach is that upset you may need to go to the vet.
In the meantime only feed her cooked plain white rice, green beans, carrots, and canned pumpkin (all natural). These things will fill her up without making her stomach worse. The pumpkin and carrots will help firm up her stool. You can also give her a childs dose of pepto bismol. Make sure she gets plenty of water and take her out more than usual.
If it’s not firmer by morning take her to the vet. She may have a parasite.
If your dog has already been house trained and is now suddenly eliminating inside, you should take her to the vet to see what’s wrong with her. At the very least, give the veterinary office a call and ask how you should handle the situation.
First, you need to find out why she has diarrhea
You can boil some plain rice with chicken or beef and give him that. For large dogs (if its not a puppy)…you can actually not feed them for about 24 hours, to let his stomach settle. Make sure that you give him enough water though.
Are there any other symptoms of your dog feeling sick?
You can also call a vet for some advice.
First off, make sure that she is drinking LOTS of water, as she is going to be more and more dehydrated. Cottage cheese and rice are good for stopping vommitting or diarrhea. However, I would suggest if she does not stop showing symptoms within the next 24 hours you take her to a vet. Is there blood in the stool? If so this could be a sign of parvo, which has developde a strain in adults and puppies, which could be life threatening. If she starts drooling excessively or has blood in her stool, take her to a vet IMMEDIATELY. But, perhaps she has an upset stomach or got into something. Again, cottage cheese, rice, maybe a little plain yogurt. No wet food. Try to not feed her any meat. Again, water water water!
Hi ,
I have seven dogs which at one time or another all get an upset stomach. This is what my vet tells me to do. Make some white rice, minute rice is fine, Boil some chicken and when it cools, mix it with the rice, nothing else for flavor. Feed this to her for a couple of days. If her tummy does not get better and she still throws up, you need to take her to the vet.. Make sure she isn’t dehydrated. To check for this, pull her skin up. If it goes back down right away, that is good. If the skin stays up for a minute, then falls, she is dehydrated and needs to see the vet immediately. Good luck
