No the dobe won't be patient it will be BORED. And that is 7 hours. A 45 minute walk will definitely help. A puppy cannot go 7 hours waiting, nor do 45 minutes in the morning. This is an active breed both in exercise and mental stimulation. They are also a very mouthy breed, you will likely come home to chewed things and a very energetic dog. As well, they are a slow maturing breed.
Is this your first dog? If you do want a dobe, I suggest adopting one that is 4 years or older.
ETA: do not leave your dobe(or any dog for that matter) outside while you arnt home. ESPECIALLY if it is because the dog has high energy. They will destroy the yard, piss off the neighbors will barking, they could be stolen, poisoned, jump the fence, etc. Not to mention dobes are velcro dogs and do not like being left outside on their own.
