Giant German Shepherds

Giant German Shepherds

I just love these enormous beasts, they have so much power. Its almost like breeding wolves and in the same time its almost as dangerous as breeding wolves. Giant German Shepherds are so strong and athletic that they can carry a small child like a pony. They are always up for a challenge, or some action and the funnest part is to run with them on the shore.

Everyone that sees a Giant German Shepherd is usually taken a back for a moment or two. But one must know how to train a German Shepherd or it can be a huge risk for the family and the neighbors. But if you'll train them right they will be able to do almost anything you want them to do. The worst thing that can happen is if you have a bad tempered dog, when it comes to these sizes it can be a bit scary. If you are not an active person you might want to drop the idea of breeding a giant German shepherd. If you'll let it just lay all day long without any chance to take out some energy it could become a bit aggressive and take it out on the people around it. It can also take out the energy on your furniture or beds. In some aspects it can act like your wife and it wont like some of your friends or family and that could be a bit annoying. Another problem might be the laws of your state - do they allow this breed or did they ban it thus making you venerable to lawsuits. When it becomes old it can catch different kind of diseases and that can be also unpleasant not to mention stinky.

But all in all I love giant German Shepherds and enjoy every moment of them.

What Are some ways to teach my German Shepherd to hunt with me?

I am getting a german shepherd in a couple of weeks. I understand german shepherds need to feel a sense of purpose and i do a lot of small game hunting (like squirrels rabbits quail etc). What are some ways that i can train my dog to track them.

What is the largest you can get a healthy German Shepherd?

Moving into my first house. I can now own a dog. I have wanted a German Shepherd since I was a boy. I understand the breed standard for a German Shepherd is 85 pounds. I would like the largest one I could get that is healthy. A friend on my soccer team who is a cop says they have German Shepherds on their department they imported from Czechoslovakia that are 115 pounds. Is that realistic? How big a German Shepherd could I get that was healthy?

What can I do for my german shepherd?

I adopted Kalo, (my German shepherd - the best of all the large breed dogs) a month ago. Sence then I took him to the vet. He had worms. He got treated. The problem is he is still skinny. The vet said he could not find a medical reason. He eats like a horse, but not gaining wight. I feed him dog food with no fillers, just like my vet told me. I've seen onter german shepherds, they are heavier then him. Hes not extremely skinny, just thin. What can I do to make him heavier? He is very active.
I feed him Nutro Max.

What are the risks of shaving a German Shepherd dog?

I have two beautiful German Shepherds, both 12 years old now, which I brush daily. I enjoy the brushing and love my dogs.

A friend of mine wants to buy a Shepherd and shave him to control shedding. I am really upset with her. Told her that she should not buy a Shepherd if she is going to shave him and that she should consider another breed. She insists that shaving is not only OK but recommended by Vets.

Am I wrong or is she?

Why is German Shepherd the most popular breed of dog?

Almost everyone i know has a german shepherd. When i walk my dog or take him out i see several german shepherds being walked.

I have newfoundland dog, and it is very rare that i have seen anyone having a landseer newfoundland.

So i'm just curious -- what makes german shepherd so popular and newfoundland kind of unpopular?

What large dog breed is the best?

I love Large Breed Dogs! But my dog died recently, and I'm considering buying another dog. I would prefer a large breed, and I would like it to be somewhat of a guard dog. Not mean, but protective. I've read good things about German Shepherds, so I'm looking into buying a puppy. Any comments would be appreciated, as I'm still not sure a German Shepherd is the right dog for me. I'm a huge dog lover, and I would have plenty of time for it. Please let me know what large dog breed, you think would be best for me!
