Why does my maltese dog have some fur on his face that is similar to whiskers?
My maltese is a male and he is three years old. On his face most of the fur is normal but there are a fur strands of almost "plasticy" hair that stick up and are hard and look and feel almost like whiskers. Is this normal or is this something I should be concerned about? Please help!

What large breed dog is for me?
I am very interested in a large breed or medium breed dog. I have a child, under 3 and a small terrier (1 year). I also have three cats.
I prefer a dog that is not very active. My terrier is hyper enough. I am looking at Border Collie or Border Collie mix. Is that a good choice?
Weimaraner's are my favorite dogs, but they are very hyper.
Suggestions, please.

What large breed of dog is good with cats and children?
I am not so familiar with large breed dogs. I have a friendly maine coon cat and children that are 7 and up. I want a medium or large dog, like a shepherd. Does anyone have a dog that is good with children and cats and what breed is it?
