Help!!… Great Dane Training..?

I have a 13 week Great Dane mix.. She's 1/2 Great Dane and 1/2 Bull Mastiff...
She's a really sweet dog, but she just does not listen! She understands that we someone says "NO!" that she's not supposed to do that or go there, but sometimes she still does... I know that you're supposed to use positive reinforcement with danes, but sometimes it gets so annoying that I'll yell or tap her on the butt real lightly... but for the most part I just clap my hands real loudly..

Oh she also runs away sometimes when I try to bring her back...

PLEASE!! If you know how to help ANSWER!!

Thank You!! :)
Thanks for all ya'lls help...
And yes I realize that Harleigh is still just a young pup.. I guess I just forget cause she's so big! haha..

If you have any other training tips that may help.. You are more than welcome to share them with me! ;) Thanks again!

Joint supplements for large breed dog?

I have a large breed dog. He is a Pit Bull/ Bull Mastiff cross weighing 95-100 lbs. He will be 2 in September.

He is a perfectly healthy dog But I would like to get him some joint supplements just to be safe because I know larger breed dogs have joint problems later on in life.

What are some good joint supplements for a reasonable price?

What is the best sort of large breed dog to buy? One that doesn’t need a lot of time and attention?

We want to buy a big dog, just for fun, but it seems like every dog we buy they are really needy. We just don't have the time to invest in a dog (training, attention) and so would like to have some ideas regarding low maintenence dogs, but still friendly. The opposite of a Golden Retriever or Chihuahua. Any ideaS?
Hold up, the reason that I said I wanted to get a dog 'for the fun of it', is because developing a relationship with anyone, or anything is fun. If it wasn't, why would anyone bother knowing someone? There would be no reason to love anything or anyone, if it wasn't enjoyable. So for all of you losers (LISA) that think you know what you are talking about - shut the fuck up! As for the Bull Mastiff idea, thank you so much for actually reading and comprehending the question. I guess it was too hard for the others to understand. Someone didn't graduate highschool!

What are the pros and cons of owning a large/extra large breed dog?

I am thinking of adopting a young bull mastiff/akita mix. I have no kids, 1 cat, 1 bird, big fenced yard and reasonably large house. I am near a big park with trails I plan on walking with dog daily and have neaxt door neighbors who have an akita purebred. What kinds of problems have you had with your big dog? What do you think is best food for them? What are your average vet bills? How is your dog with your other pets? Any info you can share would be greatly appreciated.

Is one bull mastiff enough for protection or should I get two?

There has been some house robberies lately in our neighbor hood, and my mom stays home alone sometimes, since I'm a dentist and I'm working. She doesn't want an alarm system. So we decided to buy a bull mastiff..She wanted to know if one bull mastiff was enough if a robber came in..She is very old.
I work 3 days a week for 10 hours so i think i have plenty of time.

How would I introduce a baby to a bull mastiff?

I don't have children but my husband & I are intending to start a family soon. I have a large 72kg male bull mastiff who is very possessive & protective. How would I introduce a baby to him? Obviously I would never, EVER leave any child alone with even a cat.
- dog has NEVER had any kind of interaction with children.

I am looking for a fully trained bull mastiff for personal protection, any ideas on where to get one?

I need a personal protection dog and really have my heart set on a bull mastiff, but cant seem to find one. I also wondered how I can get a certificate so I can take my dog everywhere?
Just to clarify I am willing to spend time training. I want a dog that was breed to be a protector and that was raised to be one and I would love to spend time in training with the dog.

I have a female bull mastiff and I cannot get her kennel fixed to where she will stay in. Any suggestions on how I can keep her from eating on the kennel and getting out? She is a BIG baby but you never know she may bite someone I am just afraid of this happening!
This is an outside dog kennel. made of fencing and the thick metal poles. It is like 6 foot tall.
