My moms having a baby. Do you think the baby will be safe around a trained Doberman?
My moms a little worried about our dog being around our female Doberman we're getting soon. The dog is trained, active and also is under control. Do you think it's safe for her to be around the baby?
Just make sure that you introduce the dog to the baby slowly. Our dogs were very good when we brought our daughter home. We have three huskies, and a police dog, who is a German Shepherd, and they were great with her.
A trained dog may not deliberately try to hurt the baby.
But please don’t leave them alone together and unsupervised where the dog can reach the baby (or when the baby is older… the other way around).

No child should be left unattended with a dog of any kind.. that being said. I think if the dog has not shown any aggression towards children and is properly trained she will be fine with the baby.. but should never be left unattended with the child.

I grew up with a doberman who was the biggest baby… he was scared of his own shadow and was great with my baby brother… that being said… I agree with some of the others…
Just don’t leave the baby and dog alone in the room together… always supervise dog visits. Good luck!
