How to make a Pomeranian coat healthy?
Since I was a child I always wanted on of these large breed dogs and I recently rescued a toy pomeranian. He weighs about 4 pounds and is around 6 years old. He is so adorable. His coat is kinda rough. Is that normal. It also looks a bit thinned out. Is there anything I could do to make his coat healthier? Maybe feed him something. I don't know, any advice will help. Thanks.
I also want to add one more thing. He is not nuetered. Do you think he is to old to get nuerterd now? Will it change him for the bad or will it be ok?
Good nutrition to start. Find a good food that has no corn and limited grains. Good coats grow from the inside out. Brush him daily to spread his natural oils. If it is thin it could either be he is shedding, he has had poor nutrition, or he could have a coat loss issue. Very common in poms. You should nueter him.
Also, there is no such thing as a toy pom. 4 lbs is within the standard. The standard is 3 to 7 lbs. So he is normal sized. Actually this is a good thing.
groom its fur twice at the very least
A raw egg will bring out hie coat. Give it to him 1 a month. He will love the taste and he will have a healthy coat. I give 2 eggs to my pit bull.
good small breed foods like artemis sm breed adult and innova or wellness,
regular grooming with natural shampoos will also help as they dont strip out the nurtients,
hes still ok to get neutered if the vets think its ok,
