Hi Serial -
Get a copy of the book "How to Housebreak Your Dog in 7 to 10 Days" and follow the directions exactly. In less than 2 weeks, your Doberman should be fully house trained and ready to be a part of the household!
He or she will still enjoy using the crate for a bit of privacy or a nap if you leave it out and available. Most dogs, with a little encouragement, will quickly learn to go into their kennel when you tell them to. Good Luck -
you can create train him until u fell satisfy the he/she knows not poop or pee in your house. Wat u should do is one day when u home just leave he/she out for like a hour and, u not in the house see what they do and if all goes well u can stop create training.
It depends on what you are "crate training" him for. Every dog is different. I would say you should do it until he is ready. Are you leaving him in there when you leave the house and want to know how long you have to do that? If so, you would have to test him and see if he is ready to not have to be in the crate.
One of my friends has been a Pro trainer for over 40 yrs and she always recommends a dog be crated until about 2 yrs old. If it doesn’t get in the habit of chewing up the house it will be much better than letting a pup chew away until he grows out of it. Some dogs prefer to be crated their whole lives and although my Dobe is loose in the house my MinPins are always crated.
