How frequently can you bath a german shepherd puppy?
My boyfriend and I just got a german shepherd puppy. He stinks pretty bad even after we have washed him. How often can you wash him? and What kind of soap should we use?

You shouldn’t bathe a puppy more than every 1-2 weeks. You’ll dry out his coat and make him very itchy. Try using a baby shampoo that is for dry skin or any oatmeal shampoo, they tend to help. If you’re going to stick with infrequent use, go ahead and use dish soap. It kills the smell, but it will severely dry out your dog’s skin if you use it too often.
Every 4 to 5 weeks is good. Use baby shampoo. and slow out how often you bathe him the older he gets.
every 3 weeks or more not to much or else the get a skin infection from all the rubbing and chemicals
I have a GSD/Husky and have found the more I wash her the stinker she becomes. I now bath her every few months and only as necessary since she is a house dog.
Use a good quality puppy shampoo that is gentle on the skin and eyes. He should not have a bad odor after bathing so I suggest that you take him for a vet check to see if there is an underlying cause. Bathing a dog is only necessary about 3 to 4 times a year unless they become covered with mud, dirt or something toxic. Over bathing will cause skin problems.
