how do u stop a dog from digging in the front yard?
my dog ALWAYS digs in the same spot in the yard, and the dog before this one did the same thing in this spot. these dogs never met. i've dug up in this spot a good 4 feet down and NOTHING is there, and i've even put differnt dirt in this spot and she still does it. how can i get her to stop!

Is your dog an outside only dog? If so, then that could be the problem (boredom)
Some dogs dig for the fun of it. Have you caught her in the act? To help deter her, she needs to be corrected right as she’s begun to dig.
Put her in the backyard…. cement your whole front yard in… Don’t leave her outside un-attended, so she won’t get bored and destructive.
tell her "no" when she’s digging–this will take a while– but go out with her and make sure that she knows that digging is bad. She probably won’t disapoint you by digging if she knows that you don’t approve.
More exercise!
Also you can get dog repellent to put in that spot. I just got some natural repellent that has herbs and stuff in it. I got it from Lowes. Usually dogs dig b/c they are bored and lack exercise. Do you punish your dog for digging?
you should try a sand box to stop her from diggin in your yard it helped me!
All dogs have a natural instinct to dig, some breeds more than others. I saw an episode on Animal Planet where the family had a problem with the dog digging, so they built a small but simple sandbox, and burried a few of the dogs favorite toys in the sand. When the dog digs where its not supposed to, take it to the sand box and reward him when he digs there.
I’ve read on here that a lot of people have had success putting the dog’s poop in the hole when filling it back up. When the dog starts to dig there again, and encounters the poop, they stop because they don’t want to be digging in the poop.
My dog does the same.=(
Its not because lack of exercise,he and my other dog jumps the fence all the time and runs two miles either way visiting other creatures in the neighborhood..my neighbors say they are the ‘patrol pooches’-
They are big dogs and not inside dogs,
-being bored maybe a reason, but I wonder why he doesnt get bored digging the same spot..over and over, and over..
-He tends to dig when I just planted some bulbs,,4xs this past week,I see it cover it up and ask ”Scruffy?Did u dig this!" and his respone is,his head and tail drops and he runs into the back yard or jumps the fence and goes for a walk…??
-The best way to describe it is,,its a "Hot spot" for him to dig..
-The best way to stop my dog from digging,,I began to make a rock garden where he likes to dig,,place rocks about the size of a 5lb sugar bag near and around the hot spot,,
-after a few weeks I move the rocks and everything is cool..he doesnt want to dig there anymore. He goes through this stage a few times a year, but its in their natural instinct to dig, helps shorten claws, and it also seem to make a good soft make shift bed,,try tis no training required,no spanking the dogs, just placing rocks, works well for me,,hope this helps some.
