How do I tell when my new doberman actually has to go out?
My new 2 year old doberman goes to the door frequently like he has to pee, (and some times seems very urgent about it)but when we get out most of the time he just plays. How do I tell when his need to go is for real?

Ya gotta watch Dobermans.. They are SMART.. It’s likely that when you go outside ( or this could be what he is used to if you have just gotten him ) once he does his thing, you go back into the house.. It’s likely that he doesn’t want to just go out and pee, he wants to play. So he knows that if he delays peeing, that you and he can stay outside longer together.
You teach him to pee fairly quickly, then you play for a while. Teach him just cause you peed, doesn’t mean we NEED to go back inside.. Then he’ll quit messing with you.
