How and where do i get my doberman puppy tested for genetic issues?
My female doberman puupy in 4 and a half months old. She will be 5mo on March 8. I recently found out that the breeder I bought her from did NOT have her parents tested for ANYTHING! I know there were suppose to be some tests...like hip and elbow. What test are there for her, and how old does she have to be to get them? Is it expensive?
Alot of these test can not be done until later in life! Hips can not be done until the age of 2. Talk to your vet and see what they recommend.
Unless you are planing to breed her (if parents where not test she is only pet quality so I do not reccommend) Just get her spayed and let her live her life. Since the breeder did not do any testing that means she was a back yard breeders and your puppy may not even be of breed standard but she will make a great pet!
