What is wrong with my dog

What is wrong with my dog

Understanding your dog actions is the first step in dealing with dog's behavior. Unless some irregular or aggressive behavior as a response to a medical treatment, most probably, your dog didn't turn bad overnight. Most dog's behavior issues start small and grow out of control as the behavior is continually reinforced. If you want to learn how to train a dog to behave, look back to when it all began and ask yourself a few simple questions.

These questions will help you analyze your dog's behavior. You will be surprised how easy it is to turn your rebellious dog into a good and disciplined animal.

  • Does a specific behavior occur only when certain people are at home?
  • Is it only happening in specific parts of the house or particular areas outside?
  • Are there any objects that stimulate your dog to take action?
  • Does your dog do it constantly or occasionally?
  • Does he do it when he's triggered or any other time?
  • Did he ever change his behavior in response to something you did or say?

Rewarding bad behavior can be destructive.

In most cases the answer for the question what is wrong with my dog can be solved if only we knew dogs tendencies to repeat rewarding behaviors. A bad behavior can quickly grow out of control and the more your dog behaves wrong, the more likely he is to do it again. If you forbid his bad behavior, you will be able to break this cycle and stop the problem before it gets worse. Remember, it's always easier to acquire new good behavior to your dog than replace a bad one.

Make your own choice.

I know, it's frustrating to find your dog's poo on the living room carpet or your brand new shoe chewed up. So when you helplessly standing and asking yourself what is wrong with my dog, remember that controlling your dog's behavior is in your hands.. If you manage to succeed, you can avoid unpleasant situations such these, you'll have less negative emotions and stress, you'll appreciate the dog more and more and obviously yourself.

Question about a German Shepherd dog?

I just turned 22, self employed right now, and i'm gonna go find an apartment soon. When I do, I will be buying a German Shepherd. Fortunately, the apartment I want to move to allows pets. The unfortunate thing is my family does NOT want a dog --- mainly cause my dad has allergies.

I'm going to buy him as a puppy. ANd i will do my own training. I been watching a lot of "It's me or the dog" on animal plannet. I think I picked up some goods tips on there about how to train dogs. And I don't think a German Shepherd pup will be hard to train because GSD are considerably smart breeds. Right?

Here is the thing. The lady at the apartment where I'm gonna go to said when you train them you can buy a shocker. I thought that was a good idea, but then later on I feel that was a mean thing to do.

Here's the thing. If my german shepherd does SOMETHING that I DON'T like, I won't give it a treat. For example, if i tell him to sit, and he runs, I won't give him a treat. If he sits on the command "sit", he gets a treat. I will reward my dog when he does something i like after I tell him. I don't think it's nice to shock him for every wrong thing. I have too much respect for these dogs, and I wouldn't want to shock them. My GSD will be partner for life and i want the best for him and he will get the best from me.
Is there, however, any other methods to discpline them other than a shock or not giving them a treat? I want my training to be successful.
Brooker, can i talk to you ? Can you IM me on yahoo messenger - gmanzari0038

Is a 1 year old white german shepherd dog good around babies and family members when adopted at that age?thnx?

I am thinking about getting this one year old white german shepherd from the human society. She had been lost and no one had claimed her so they put her up for adoption. she seems a bit skinny but one of the vet techs told me thats becasue probably she hadn't eatin in a while when she had been lost wondering around. When i met her one on one she was very jumpy and hyper one of the ladies said thats because they don't give it much excercise. She was very friendly and when i had a treat in my hand i told her to sit and she did. also she licked me my hands and face alot. she seemed to be trained dog. I have never owned a dog but i really want one. I have a baby sister (one year old) will the WGS be good around her and the rest of my family. I probably will keep this dog in my garage or in the back yard for a while before letting it in the house. i used to be scared of dogs but when i met this WGS i like connected to it i wasn't scared of it at all. is this one year old WGS okay to have.tx

What all priviliges will my german shepherd dog have once he is a trained and registered service dog?

If I was told correctly by someone, I understand that he should be able to go into a store or restaurant if needed. Is that correct? What about air traveling? Would he be able to sit with me or will he still have to sit underneath the plane where most dogs go?

Is there a place or way that I can get my German Shepherd trained like a guard dog? Like when I'm gone it will guard and attack people that come in unless I say so. Can I get it trained so it will attack on command? My dog is 1 year old and I want to make it really obediant. Also I want to train it also as my hunting companion.
