Giant German Shepherds

Giant German Shepherds

I just love these enormous beasts, they have so much power. Its almost like breeding wolves and in the same time its almost as dangerous as breeding wolves. Giant German Shepherds are so strong and athletic that they can carry a small child like a pony. They are always up for a challenge, or some action and the funnest part is to run with them on the shore.

Everyone that sees a Giant German Shepherd is usually taken a back for a moment or two. But one must know how to train a German Shepherd or it can be a huge risk for the family and the neighbors. But if you'll train them right they will be able to do almost anything you want them to do. The worst thing that can happen is if you have a bad tempered dog, when it comes to these sizes it can be a bit scary. If you are not an active person you might want to drop the idea of breeding a giant German shepherd. If you'll let it just lay all day long without any chance to take out some energy it could become a bit aggressive and take it out on the people around it. It can also take out the energy on your furniture or beds. In some aspects it can act like your wife and it wont like some of your friends or family and that could be a bit annoying. Another problem might be the laws of your state - do they allow this breed or did they ban it thus making you venerable to lawsuits. When it becomes old it can catch different kind of diseases and that can be also unpleasant not to mention stinky.

But all in all I love giant German Shepherds and enjoy every moment of them.

German shepherds names

German shepherds names

Picking a name for your German shepherd can be a very complicated task. I remember when I got my first German shepherd I spent days looking for the right name. I went through forums on the internet, went to blogs and dogs sites, I asked all of my friends and in the end I came up with a list of the best German shepherds names and then I sat down and erased the names that weren’t good enough. In the end I was left with 12 names and I asked all the members of my family to pick the best 3, I counted the votes but it still came down to 3 names that I had to choose from and then I just threw a dice and came up with Zeus.

With the years I understood that the dog makes the name as much as the name makes the dog and I am very happy that I chose Zeus. So for all of you still searching for the right German shepherd name here is my list that I started with and I hope you'll find it useful. I think it can go for any large breed dogs:

How much discrimination does the average schutzhund german shepherd have with people coming and going?

For example if I went to the hospital for x amount of weeks and came back to my house and german shepherd, could I be in danger? ( I think so If the shepherd was left in my house and perhaps not if he was left at a kennal ) Also how long would it be before a guest in my house could come and go to the house as they please?

When should I switch my German Shepherd puppy to adult dog food?

She is 60 lbs, 6 months old and very healthy, skinny and active. But, she wants to eat my adult German Shepherd's dinner? Although getting better, dinner time can be a bit of a circus. She eats 2 cups Nutro Large Breed Chicken & Rice dry with 1/2 small can of Pediree Puppy food, twice a day.

How do you wash a German Shepherd that doesn’t like water?

I have a 5 year old German Shepherd in dire need of a bath. He's going tomorrow to PetsMart, but I don't think they'll be able to do it. He's always hated water.

Does anybody think Petsmart can do it?

And tips or suggestions?

Thanks!!

Where to find fully trained German Shepherd or Golden Retriever in California?

I would like to know where I can find a fully trained young adult or adult German Shepherd or Golden Retriever in California, specifically near San Francisco. Any info on good breeders who offer said trained dogs would be appreciated.
Trained in simple obedience tasks (sit down, stay, fetch, come, etc.), well-socialized, and most importantly, house broken.

How do you teach a German Shepherd puppy not to nip at children?

5 month old female German Shepherd - a great dog, very sweet and playful, but the only negative is that she occasionally takes nips at the kids. Playing, of course. Telling her off with "no!" doesn't always work, as she perceives this as playing.

Any suggestions here?

thanks.

How can I stop my German Shepherd from digging under my fence?

My 7 month old German Shepherd has recently begun digging out under my fence. I have aproxximately 600 feet of backyard and am afraid she will get hurt or taken. She gets plenty of attention throughout the day with my two sons and also has plenty of toys. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How can I train my German Shepherd to attack on command?

First of all, let me make it clear that I am not looking to train my dog to attack random people. I'm a homeowner, and quite frankly, don't want to get sued. However, I do live in a *very* remote area off the interstate in southwest Florida. We have a lot of homeless people that wander down here and take up residence in the woods near our homes, most of whom are sexual predators.

Anyways, I have a female German Shepherd that is 7 months old. She has an average prey drive, and I'd like to get her to attack on command. I've already had her trained to secure the property (she runs around the yard sounding an alert bark). I just need to know if there are any trainers out there that could point me in the right direction. Thanks!

How can you train a German Shepherd to be less possessive of his toys?

My dog is 4 years old and he's really possessive of his toys. When anyone plays fetch with him he doesn't give you the ball he drops it at a far distance for you to walk. Sometimes when you go get the ball he comes back and snatches it before you can get to it. I now got another dog he's a Welsh Corgi puppy, and he has his own toys but yet the German Shepherd sometimes gets angry and tries to bite him because he wants all the toys. What should I do?

How old should my german shepherd puppy be before I feed him large breed puppy food?

My german shepherd puppy is 10 weeks old and I have been feeding him regular puppy food. My breeder said I should wait a certain amount of time before I feed him large breed puppy food because of something that has to do with how fast it makes them grow & it's now good for them???
Has anyone heard of this or do you know if I should start feeding him large breed puppy food yet? Thank You
