Can someone let me know their Old English Mastiff growth rates?
This is my first time with an Old English Mastiff and my breeder died. I need some info so I can get an idea. I would like to know the length (from nose to tail), height at the withers and weight by week at 6 weeks and till say, about a year. Thanks. I realize that each dog is different and this is just to get a general idea.

Below is a growth chart from The Journal of Nutrition. The top -x on the chart is the mastiff.
Full size in about 2 years. Over 100 pounds.
I have looked for a growth chart for the English Mastiff and so far have not been able to find one. I think maybe because how much they weight at 4 months has little to do with how much they weight as the adult dogs. From my understanding, the English Mastiff can take up to 2 full years just to reach it’s height but for most, you have a pretty accurate height by 18 months. After they reach their height, they began to become more muscular. This takes an average of 3 years. The average for an adult female is about 150 and male is about 180 but 220 pound male is not unheard of.
FYI, Genesis Book of World Records: The heaviest dog on record was Aicama Zorba of La-Susa, an Old English mastiff owned by Chris Eraclides of London, England. "Zorba" weighted in at 343 lbs. at his heaviest, in Nov. 1989.
The diet of these dogs is real important because fast growth can weaken and cause deformities in the bones so a slow and steady weight gain is better than trying to force the growth. The dog will still reach the size it was genetically suppose to be and be healthier. My unsolicited advise here is to research and talk to your Vet about the diet because it’s really important for the giant breeds.
Gratz on your new baby.
I found this site with all kinds of information about an english mastiff. You may want to take a look. Hope this helps.
